There’s a lot to like about the G6, the newest flagship phone from LG that’s getting points for its sleek design.
In terms of specs, the G6 has everything we’ve come to expect from a flagship phone: a 3,300 mAh battery, a 13-megapixel dual camera, and a 2,880 by 1,400 pixel resolution that stands as a leader among top phones. With an 18:9 aspect ratio, it’s pretty much optimized to watch widescreen movies. It’s also waterproof up to a depth of about 5 feet for 30 minutes – good news for those prone to getting pushed into swimming pools at weekend barbecues.
On the charging front, the G6 has a Snapdragon 821 processor that supports Qualcomm QuickCharge 3.0. While QuickCharge 3.0 isn’t much faster than 2.0, it is more efficient and far better at heat management. LG also ditched the removable battery that was a defining feature of the G5. On the other hand, LG did include 5W wireless charging, but users will have to buy their own wireless charger.
And that’s not the only accessory you’ll need. Outfit your new G6 with the following:
Wireless car charger. Ventev’s wirelesspro dock clips to a car’s air vents and delivers up to 15 watts of power. While that’s more than the G6 will accept, it’s sure to come in handy when you or a passenger needs a quick top up. With spring-loaded arms, all you need to do is drop the phone into the cradle, and it will begin charging.
Portable power. The G6 has a pretty big screen, and it’s optimized to watch widescreen movies. That’s going to eat a lot of power. We recommend picking up a Ventev powercell 3015c, which has 3,000 mAh of juice, enough to keep it running for a long time.
Screen and phone protection. Keep that wide screen safe with Ventev’s toughglass for the G6. With a 9H hardness rating (just shy of a diamond), it’s built to keep your G6 looking new. It also features tapered edges for a smooth and seamless feel.
The Otter Symmetry and Speck Presidio Grip are great choices for phone cases. Both of these cases are compatible with Ventev cables and screen protectors.
Tough cables. Speaking of cables, the G6 comes with a USB A to C cable. It’s always a good idea to pick up a spare. At 4 feet long, and available in a bunch of funky colors, Ventev’s A to C chargesync alloy cables are just what you need. Business Insider says it is one the best durable cables on the market.
Great phones deserve great accessories, and the G6 is a great phone. These accessories will keep your G6 safe and charged.
